Horror Movies to Binge-watch on Netflix This Halloween
Horror Movies to Binge-watch on Netflix This Halloween

The Halloween season is the best time to enjoy horror movies with your friends, loved ones, or, if you’re feeling brave, by yourself. Over the years, we’ve gotten some of the best horror movies in the industry, and they’re something that you shouldn’t miss watching. In this blog post, we’re here to share our top horror movie picks for you to binge-watch this Halloween.

But before you binge-watch, just a bit of friendly advice: you should have a reliable internet connection like Always On WiFi so you can really enjoy these films. Are you ready? Let’s start!

1. The Devil on Trial (2023)

The Devil on Trial isn’t technically a horror movie per se, but it’s a true crime documentary film about a 19-year-old boy (Arne Johnson) who killed his landlord because he’s allegedly under demonic possession. It may sound weird, but they actually used that reason in his case, which led to the infamous Devil Made Me Do It case. The story was interesting because Arne Johnson somehow inherited the evil spirit from David Glatzel because during the exorcism ritual, Arne challenged the spirit to go to him instead – and after several months, it did. If you’ve watched The Conjuring movies, you will also encounter the real Ed and Lorraine Warren in this movie.

Since it’s a Netflix Original, you can only watch it on Netflix at the moment. But hopefully, this good of a crime documentary movie can be available on other streaming platforms like Hulu, HBO Max, and Dish Latino TV.

2. Lights Out (2016)

We’re not sure if it’s just us, but we’ve screamed at the top of our lungs while watching this movie. It’s probably because we’re all scared of the dark, but the jumpscares are really terrifying. Lights Out is about a woman who only wants one thing: to protect his younger stepbrother from a spirit from their family’s past that kills people in the dark.

The creepiest thing about this film for us is how the mother is the one allowing the spirit to haunt her family. But it was bound to happen, or is it?

3. The Strangers (2008)

Up for a psychological thriller? The first installment of The Strangers movie series might be what you’re looking for. It’s about a young couple named James Hoyt and Kristen McKay who stayed at James’s childhood summer home after attending their friend’s wedding. Things get freaky when a lady keeps knocking on the door after James leaves to buy something, asking for a woman they don’t know about.

4. Us (2019)

If you’re into doppelgängers, you should watch Us if you haven’t yet. It’s about a family who went to a beach for a vacation, but their supposed-to-be fun vacation led to a nightmare when their doppelgängers suddenly appeared and haunt them. The next thing they know? Everyone is dying, and the government has something to do with it.

Us is an intense movie that will really keep you on the edge of your seat, so it’s best to have fast and stable wireless internet so you don’t ruin the film with constant lags and buffering.

5. Sister Death (2023)

Sister Death is a new intense horror movie about Narcisa, a gifted nun, who goes to a school for girls (formerly a convent) to teach. As the film moves forward, more and more strange things happen that lead her to uncover the mysteries behind the old convent and the evil entity that lives there.

Keep in mind that this film leans on traditional or old-style horror, so it can be a bit uncomfortable to watch. It’s also a bit creepy that nuns were wearing white, which is unconventional.

6. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

Leatherface comes back on screen several decades after the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This time around, this infamous serial killer targets another group of young adults but faces a challenge when a survivor of his previous murders comes at him for revenge. This film received a mixed response from viewers, but it’s worth a watch if you’ve seen the two previous TCM movies.

Final Thoughts

We all love a good horror movie during Halloween, and we totally understand that. That’s why we’ve created this list for you to try. Most of these films are available on major streaming platforms, so you wouldn’t have a hard time looking for them. Happy Halloween!
