Top Ten Films of 2018
Top Ten Films of 2018

For the last few years, the most popular films, festival favorites, and even box office blockbusters – everything that tends to soak up the majority of nationwide critics’ end-of-year attentions – have failed to impress us. Once again, this year’s Top Ten was difficult to compile, based on the lack of standout productions. However, in a strange twist from our previous, jointly-arranged rosters, this year we disagreed on a considerable number of entries; films that just missed the mark include “Upgrade,” “Eighth Grade,” “The Favourite,” “Mary Poppins Returns,” “First Reformed,” “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” “Vice,” and “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.” Enjoy!
